This Grade 9 Physics course introduces students to the foundational principles of physics and their relevance to human society. It begins with an exploration of the nature, branches, and historical development of physics, along with its connection to other scientific fields. Students will gain a strong understanding of physical quantities, units, measurement techniques, and safety considerations. The course explores into core mechanics topics such as motion in a straight line, forces, Newton’s laws, work, energy, power, and friction. Learners will also study simple machines, including their applications and efficiency. Further topics include mechanical oscillations and sound waves, covering wave characteristics, propagation, and sound behavior. The final unit focuses on temperature and thermometry, addressing measurement methods, thermal expansion, and real-life applications. Through conceptual learning, practical examples, and graphical analysis, students will develop critical thinking skills and a scientific approach to understanding the physical world.
